Oscars 2017 Mistakenly Named La La Land as Best Picture - It's Moonlight!

Oscars just blew the viewers and netizens around the globe as they mistakenly announced the Gosling-Stone starrer movie, La La Land as the best picture this year.

A lot of people were speculating that the American musical romantic comedy-drama film will get the Best Picture title at end of the 89th Academy Award as the movie started getting multiple awards including Best Actress - but it didnt win.

In the strangest event most of us have seen in an Oscars broadcast, presenters Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway declared the wrong winner.

The La La Land producers were mostly through their speech before the Oscars’ producers realized the error. The error was clarified after the producers and cast for that film came onstage and made the correction and the team behind Moonlight took the stage and the award.

La La Land lead actor, Ryan Gosling's precious reaction on the mishap.
Aside from La La Land, Moonlight beat out other movies including Arrival, Hidden Figures, Manchester By the Sea, and more.

According to IMDB, Moonlight is a timeless story of human self-discovery and connection, Moonlight chronicles the life of a young black man from childhood to adulthood as he struggles to find his place in the world while growing up in a rough neighborhood of Miami.

Aside from Stone winning the Best Actress award, which was her first Academy Award, La La Land also took home Best Original Score, Best Original Song, Best Actress, Best Cinematography, Best Director, and Best Production Design. La La Land was nominated for 14 awards in total.

De javu as they call it since this is not the first time that fail happened on National TV.  Back it 2015, Steve Harvey also did a mistake in announcing the winner of the prestigious pageant, Miss Universe. Is this becoming a new norm?

Or maybe those were just unintentional mistakes?
