Filipina Singer, Ivy Grace Paredes quits X-Factor UK over visa issues


33-year-old Filipina singer Ivy Grace Paredes was forced to end her "X-Factor UK" journey after she failed to get a US Visa, a British newspaper reported.

Ivy was one of the early favourites in the contest after she impressed all the four judges with her rendition of Whitney Houston’s "All The Man I Need." On Sunday night, she survived the boot camp after performing Mariah Carey's 'One Sweet Day' with Mike Hough and Lascel Wood.

According to a report by The Sun, Paredes has to withdraw from the competition "after she was refused a visa she needed to travel to Los Angeles to film that part of the show."


Paredes, who has a two-year-old daughter hails from Malaybalay, Bukidnon in the Philippines, revealed she was encouraged to try out "X-Factor UK" after watching a group of sisters also from the Philippines placed fifth in last season.

"I watched 4th Impact, a group of Filipino sisters, perform. I got really inspired that if they can make it. I can make it too," she told the camera.

The Sun said Paredes' application was rejected point blank over an issue in here past and no one but Ivy knows the reason."
