Celebrity judges are composed of 16-time Grammy winner David Foster, UK Pop Sensation and former Spice Girl member Melanie C, Taiwanese-American Pop Idol - Actor Vanness Wu and Indonesian rock icon Anggun and is hosted by The Amazing Race Asia 2 finalists Marc Nelson and Rovilson Fernandez from the Philippines.
Before the semi-finals starts, we've gathered some of the remarkable Filipino talents who have made it to the audition weeks of the region-wide competition.
This all-boys Filipino dance crew sets the bar for the competition with an electrifying performance during the pilot episode of Asia's Got Talent with their sensational performance.
2. Fe and Rodfill
Rodfill, a member of the Moymoy Palaboy duo and 54-year-old vegetable vendor Fe teamed-up in hopes of fulfilling her dream of becoming a popular singer. They sang Bonnie Tyler's hit "Total Eclipse of the Heart."
The duo received a standing ovation from the celebrity judges after their sensational performance bu then judge David asked Fe if she would consider dropping Rodfill in order for her to move to the next round. But in the end, Fe still decided to stick with her partner.
Transgender trio, Angel, Marico and Mia or simply The Miss Tres, surprised the crowd with their performance of Tom Jones’s hit “Sex Bomb" which got them the four "yes" they need to go the next round of the show.
These entertainers also made it as finalists on ABS-CBN's Pilipinas Got Talent Season 4 in 2013.
4. Echo Claridad
With his angelic tone, this talented 9-year-old serenaded the entire Asia with his version of Bee Gees' "Too Much Heaven."
Echo got four big yes from the celebrity judges which included superstars Vanness Wu and Anggun. It could be remembered that Echo joined The Voice Kids Philippines in 2014 where he made all the coaches turn for him.
5. Gwyneth Dorado
10-year-old Gwyneth Dorado impressed the celebrity judges with her amazing voice and guitar playing. She belts out Katty Perry’s phenomenal song “Roar,” and received a standing ovation from the celebrity judges.
Dorado admitted that she looked up to Grammy award-winning composer David Foster whom she received praises for her remarkable stint. As a sign of appreciation, David signed her guitar.
6. D'Intensity Breakers
Breakdancing group D' Instensity Breakers advances to the next round of competitionalso made it to the next round after they made everyone's jaw drop with their fiery dance performance. "It wasn't good, it was really great," David told the dance group.
This dance group first joined the local version "Pilipinas Got Talent Season 4" and even competed in the finals.
7. Fitri Cerado
11-year-old Fitri Cerado sings “(Somewhere) Over The Rainbow” from the 1939 Hollywood movie The Wizard of Oz while playing keyboards wowed the judges.
8. El Gamma Penumbra
Shadow dancers from the province of Batangas City got the golden buzzer from Indonesian superstar Anggun in the April 2 episode of the Asia-wide talent search which secured the group to advance in the semi-finals round.
El Gamma Penumbra is a former "Pilipinas Got Talent" Season 3 semifinalist.
9. Velasco Brothers
Pilipinas Got Talent Season 1 runner-up, flew to Singapore to honor and bring their father’s circus legacy abroad.
This four-male acrobatic dancers -- Noah, Emmanuel, Moises and John made the crowd go wild in the last episode of Asia's Got Talent with their heartbreaking stunts.
10. Geraldine Flores
This 24-year-old opera singer wowed the judges, including award-winning composer David Foster.. Flores was the last auditionee who received a golden ticket to the semi-finals--came from David Foster.
Before Asia's Got Talent, Gerphil also joined the first season of Pilipinas Got Talent where Jovit Baldovino emerged as the winner.
Hopefully, all of these contestants will qualify for the Finals on Asia’s Got Talent.
The semi-finals and finale will be held at the iconic Marina Bay Sands, Singapore, with the winner awarded a contract to return and perform live. Semi-finals starts this April 16, 2015, 8:30 PM on AXN Asia.
I was really hoping for Geraldine to win the Asia's Got Talent, but I'm still happy of the result! El Gamma is an awesome contestant, all contestants are! I hope Fame will have a chance to show the world her talent and be famous!
