Abolishment of Old Jeepneys: Drivers will hold a strike on Monday, February 27

Traffic has always been our problem since the roads are congested with a lot of vehicles nowadays but February 27 is going to be another struggle to the Manila Commuters as Jeepney drivers will hold strike on Monday, February 27.

This is to protest the government's move to give up its planned phase-out of old jeepneys, and a required P7 million minimum capital for jeepney operators and 10 minimum units for each franchise.

It'll start early in the morning not just in Metro Manila but also on some identified provinces. Protesters will come together in Monumento and other protest sites within the Metro. The initial plan is to gather in Quezon City Circle at 11am before marching to Mendiola.

Netizens are advised to expect problems with transportation due to this movement. We have also witnessed a strike recently which caused class suspension and delay to those commuters but were addressed by the government by offering free rides using their vehicles.

Are we going to experience the same thing?
